MUSIC FOR FILM OR SERIES: NEW CUE SHEET AND EASIER REGISTRATION PROCESS

November 2023

If you have composed or published music for a film or a series episode, Sacem now has a brand-new cue sheet template, in accordance with CISAC standards and rules, and has updated its registration process making it much easier to register your works.

The new form and process were voted by Sacem’s Board of Directors, based on a proposal from the Audiovisual Committee. We wanted to streamline procedures to make registering works easier, to make it faster to register documents for music for film or TV series, and make it easier to identify works - which in turn makes it easier for us to collect and pay out royalties, especially for works used abroad.

HOW TO REGISTER MUSIC FOR A FILM OR A SERIES EPISODE?

1- Register your works individually via your member account. For the "Genre of work", please select "Musique de film (music for film)" from the drop-down list. For published works, registrations must preferably be made online, otherwise they can be done manually on paper and sent to us by post.

2- Fill in the form "Music cue sheet (for a film or a series episode)" which can be downloaded at sacem.fr/en > Documents and resources. This is a cue sheet which looks like an Excel sheet. The brand-new template features fields required in accordance with the CISAC standards and rules.

3- Send us the completed form via email to audiovisual.documentation@sacem.fr.
Don't forget to include a list of all the original and pre-existing works used in the film or series episode.

Please note:

The old audiovisual information sheets (forms 703bis and 704bis) and cue sheet templates (forms 720bis and 721bis) are no longer valid. They have now been replaced by one single Excel form which you can download below:
