New service: keep track of your works with LeakID!

January 2018

SACEM and LeakID have put a service in place to improve the protection of its members' rights. It makes it possible for you to report illicit web links to your works.

Leak ID

SACEM is signing contracts with platforms offering legal streaming or downloads, so as to authorise using the music it represents.

However, many websites, blogs, forums, social networks and search engines are used to illegally distribute links to music files.

LeakID, founded in 2007, has become a major player in the protection of Internet content and offers solutions in the fight against piracy.

With this new service you can:

  • Request the removal of links to works on sites or streaming platforms that are not authorised by SACEM (excluding, for example, YouTube), on hosting platforms or on social networks.
  • Request the removal of links to your works on the Google search engine.

This will be offered as a free service to SACEM members (songwriters, author-directors, composers, editors) for their works (and for theirs only), up to a maximum of ten links per day.

It is a very simple process.

1. You select a work in your catalogue.
2. You report illicit links to this work to be removed or deleted.
3. LeakID tells you the status and result of your requests in your history.

LeakID is a SACEM PLUS offer and is accessible from the dedicated page.
