On the occasion of the distribution of 6 January 2020, new degression rules for television and radio broadcasts will be implemented.
Degression will be applied to indicators, generics and background music.
For the sake of simplification, the SACEM Board of Directors has modified the existing rules by standardising them and raising the application thresholds.
The new thresholds will be as follows:
- from 1 second to 112,500 seconds of broadcasts during a semester: no degression.
- from 112,501 seconds to 225,000 seconds of broadcasts during a semester: 50% reduction.
- as from 225,001 seconds of broadcasts during a semester: 66.7% reduction.
